Answer their icebreaker with a thoughtful message! We think the best way to show someone you’re interested in them is to start a conversation.

If you don’t want to make the first move, you can invite someone you’re interested in to start the conversation.

There are a few reasons this might be happening.

Bad network connection. Make sure you are somewhere with good reception or a stable wifi connection.

Your settings might be too narrow. Try expanding your search radius and age range to find more matches. If you are a VIPea, consider changing your deal breaker preferences.

If you swiped through matches after midnight, the app may have registered those swipes against the next day’s daily match limit.

Outdated software. Make sure you have updated your OS to the latest available version, and updated Sweet Pea to the most recent version available as well.

Software loading error. Try force quitting the app and reopening it. If this does not work, try uninstalling and then reinstalling Sweet Pea.

If you live in a rural area, or outside of a metropolitan city, its possible that there simply aren’t any other users around. If this is the case, we hope you like Sweet Pea enough to tell your friends about it.

If you think this is the result of a bug or software problem, please email support@sweetpea.co

People who answer your icebreaker or invite you to start a conversation will show up under the “New Messages” section of your inbox.

If you’re uninterested in continuing the conversation with someone who messages you or someone who invites you to start the conversation, swipe right or tap their message in the inbox to respond.

If you aren’t interested, simply swipe left to delete their message or conversation invite. You won’t get any messages from them again on Sweet Pea, or see them on the home screen.

Your current conversations will show up at the top of the inbox under the section labeled “Conversations”

We believe in a quality over quantity approach. We created Sweet Pea to mimic the IRL social experience of meeting new people, and want to avoid overwhelming people with choice.

Studies show that excessive swiping leads to lower quality connections, fatigue, and poor decision making. We want to avoid this on Sweet Pea.

We think this will make using Sweet Pea more manageable, and result in a higher quality social experience for everyone.

In order to use Sweet Pea, you must be at least 18 years old.

Icebreakers are what help spark fun, interesting conversations on Sweet Pea. The social context icebreakers provide help people naturally start conversations with one another and makes Sweet Pea feel like more of a social network and less like a traditional dating app.

Putting icebreakers front and center in the app helps us create and maintain a culture that values and prioritizes conversation. This culture is what keeps Sweet Pea a fun and interesting place.

Being creative and coming up with unique and original icebreakers is something that adds a ton of value to our community, but if you really can’t think of a good icebreaker on your own, we have a list of icebreakers you can choose from when you first create your account.

  • Upgrading to VIPea will give you the option to only display your profile to people you have liked as well as the option to message first, which will reduce the number of inbound messages you receive or eliminate them all together.

To report someone, tap the ellipsis in the upper right hand corner of their profile photo and select the option that says “Report…”You will be able to select your reason from reporting them, as well as leave additional comments for Sweet Pea admins to review.
